I really want to try these lippies from the new Ulta3 collection after reading Emma’s review.
I have quite a few Tower28 goodies in my collection now but haven’t got around to sharing a review – Floating in Dreams has you covered if you’re curious about the lippies.
Jaz has made a beautiful series using the Glaminatrix You Beauty palette – I really need to try their shadows!
This Week Latte post has been in the works since November… oops. Never mind, here we are with our first for 2021- woohoo!
I watched this Tik Tok and oh my gosh it struck a cord with me! The comments suggested to google ‘you don’t have to monetize your joy’ and it showed me two articles – this one from Life Hacker and this one from (now extinct) (Man) Repeller. This is exactly how I feel with my blog/Instagram. I have turned down paid opportunities and affiliate programs because I feel like the second I attach money to my blog -particularly as a RESULT- I will see it not as a hobby but as a stress. So I loved having my thoughts validated and put in much nicer terms than I could ever describe.
In saying that, most of my buying comes form seeing something pretty and wanting to own it. Instead, I’m trying to appreciate it’s prettiness without needing to own it. To do that, I’m making a wish list and the new Mellow Cosmetics quads are right on top! Interesting caption too!
One of my new fave podcasts in Single Minded. This episode about the Budget Bachelorette is so amazing, and omg I am living for the private story updates by Em.
Absolutely in love with Britt’s eye look here. All my fave colours!
I have a post in drafts about why it’s so important to share ‘negative reviews’ – or why products didn’t work for you. Every one is different! No one can expect one product to work the exact same way for them as another person, there are so many variables! Which is why I LOVEDDDD Lily’s post about products she found disappointing in 2020.
Mco Beauty have launched a new foundation and concealer and i hate to say it but I love the sound of them. Although, they totally ripped off Tarte Shape Tape, my biggest gripe is the fact they think they can sell a foundation for $28 RRP at WOOLWORTHS????? Chill Mco, lol.
These posts are a work-in-process over the month, but dang this one came up on me quickly. Life is hectic. I’m tired lol.
But instead of talking about that haha let me tell you that the past week and a half I’ve been so good in term so buying things. Okay, ‘so good’ is an exaggeration. But I’ve definitely been better than my frenzied spending spree at the start of the month.
Jayde did a fabulous, in depth review on Function of Beauty which was so interesting. I have the hair serum and mask on my wishlist, but think I could happily pass on the shampoo and conditioner (despite them being so cute).
This discourse about being brave is so interesting – I read something similar a few years ago and I wish I could remember it correctly. But basically, wearing a bikini to the beach isn’t being brave… it’s none of your business. Nurses and doctors and teachers are brave.
This story is INCREDIBLE! Gave me chills. ‘I fell five storeys from a New York rooftop and survived.’ This is not easy to read. I had to take a break before I finished it. It’s unimaginable. If you needed a reminder that life is precious, this is it.
Why Your Morning Routine Isn’t Working… I am obsessed with hearing other people’s morning routines, one of my niche interests lol. This video was really unique, particularly the tip to theme your routine each day. I definitely want to implement this!
@thecaryledit has reviewed the newest SPF to my collection – and my first ever physical sunscreen- Medik8 Physical Sunscreen!
I stumbled across this post on Pinterest and it’s got some great, practical tips for helping you do a spending ban. I like the phrase ‘project 10 pan.’ We’ve hear of project pan before, right? Hitting pan on a product… I tried this and failed for many reasons but basically it left me feeling overwhelmed. But I like this idea of using a product 10 times before you buy another product in the same category etc. Sounds achievable!
This is a milestone for me, I can’t believe it honestly! And to think, that many of these posts were published in consecutive weeks – pat on the back to past me.
Now they are primarily monthly occurrences, lol so the name ‘week’ latte doesn’t quite means the same but it’s the same vibe, no?
MCo Beauty have launched new brushes that were exclusive to Oz Hair and Beauty at the start of th emonth when I started this post, but as I edit it, it’s actually in store at Woolies, woo! They look very luxe for MCo, and the price tag reflects that. Still affordable, but I’m still keen to get them half price, ya know? They look so fluffy, I’m very tempted to try!
September was an exciting month in the publishing world, with the wonderful women behind @shamelesspodcast and @seize_the_yay all releasing books! So exciting, I had ‘The Space Between’ on preorder, but am yet to pick up Seize the Yay.
The Sephora 15-20% off sale happened at the start of the month, which took me by surprise. I wasn’t emotionally or financially prepared (in my head, I was prepping for the next one to be Black Friday) so I demonstrated great levels of self control and skipped this sale. However, Hannah created a great list of recommended products I’ll certainly refer to next time.
Emma shared this post and so much yes. Lockdown in Victoria was getting the best of me, particularly because I was seeing people in other states doing boomerangs with rosé as if life was normal and was shocked. I actually thought ‘are they posting a memory?’ because that is so far from the reality in Melbourne. And you really can’t understand it unless you lived through it.
This episode of Shameless spoke about how friendships are changing during the pandemic. So interesting, and something I had felt but hadn’t considered the long-term effect of. They referenced this article from Man Repeller.
I am honestly really apprehensive about lockdown being over. I don’t think I remember how to socialise! This post was a good read for making the most of weekends (post lockdown!)
I went through my inbox and realised I had a few unopened Newsletter emails from @theannaedit. Within them, I found this article: ‘How to deal with Zoom fatigue’ Especially relevant because at the time of writing Melbourne is lockdown 2.0).
I’ve found that listening to podcasts is really motivating for me when running, as opposed to listening to music. Today I listed to Jameela Jamil on Shameless and it was amazing. AH-MAZING! Everyone must listen to it. So many amazing takeaways. Shameless is wonderful anyways, so joining forces with Jameela was just so empowering.
Sand and Sky launched their new Tasmanian Spring Water range this week, which I’ve been trialling for about a month. See the range here, and my review here. I also have a highlight on my IG that has links to other creators who have shared their reviews too!
A weekly beauty schedule like this is so practical for someone who is forgetful and/or lazy like me haha! I plan on printing it out so I remember. I particularly need encouragement to wash my brushes oops haha.
Still on the theme of beauty Youtubers, Allie Glines ‘How to Look Expensive With Drugstore Makeup’ spoke to my soul! Drugstore has my heart, and like Allie said she feels too, I’m seriously overwhelmed by the beauty industry right now. I can’t keep up with launches and i feel like I’m drowning in my own collection. ‘When it’s on your face, no one knows how expensive it is.’ AMEN!
In the same breath, Priceline recently had their half price cosmetics sale… here are some of my favourite blogger’s hauls!
@katiecosmopolitan wins this haul, she found the best Makeup revolution palette!!!
@bottledbeautyblog picked up this gorg marble palette, definitely on my wishlist.
@i_shall_shop picked up her fave lip tint and lip oil.
@jesscbeautylover did sooooo well. Also, yes I regret not getting this palette.
@beautystyleloveau bought the Luma lip and cheek tint based on mine and Kim’s recommendation. Enjoy!
@itsjustkrystle bought my fave Essence lipstick, that I always forget to mention. guys, it’s divine!!!
Ok, I could go on and on but basically I loved living vicariously through these hauls haha!
And to finish off, I just wanted to share with you my new series – Aussie Blogger Beauty Swap! It launched this week in collaboration with Emmie’s Beauty Life, read her blog post here and my blog post here! It was so fun and you guys all enjoyed it too which I’m so glad about.
What’s been your fave thing from the internet this week?
The most recent Week Latte was at the start of May and now this one is at the end. Idk, you guys. Time isn’t real.
I resisted the urge to share exclusively purple eyeshadow looks (which makes up most of my saved posts, no shame) so here are some of my other recent IG faves x
Anna’s ‘Working From Home Beauty Edit’ was a fun read- but I can’t relate. Early on in iso I was doing my makeup almost more than I did IRL. But over two months into iso, I haven’t been wearing makeup for my uni zoom calls. Soz guys.
I’m not one for maths, but this pie chart is a wardrobe hack I can get on board with!
I saw this post on Pinterest and it really resonated with me – and although the post was written a year ago, I think it’s particularly relevant to me (at least) right now in a world of you-know-what.
Arna uploaded this incredible calling GRWM. I wanted to close my eyes to enjoy the music, but to keep them open to see the makeup haha. I then promptly fell down the rabbit hole of makeup ASMR.
If you’re struggling for motivation for studying online, I found this article to be *actually* helpful – it’s not your stereotypical tips which I appreciated.
Let’s look at the positives- there are HEAPS of sales happening online right now. I have the details to how you can save on Ever Sundays, Luxey Cup and more below… but first! The non-sale related good stuff 🙂
As always, a really beautiful visual post by Kate- and yummy recipes! I’m sure you could substitute some ingredients to make it non-alcoholic too!
Chriselle Lim, aka our Rich Mom, shared some tips for success on Tik Tok! And she’s amazing!!
No bake cookies – another Tik Tok gem… how delish and easy!! (Edit: tried these and failed miserably. Not sure if it was me or the recipe lol.)
Arna did an international beauty swap which I think is such a fun idea! Watch her video here. Definitely putting these metallic, cream Australis eyeshadows on my wishlist now!
Isolation skin is a REAL thing, you guys! It is certainly not just you. I had a hormonal breakout – or so I thought- around my chin and jaw during my first few days of isolation, but it has seriously stuck around… and as Amy wrote for Mamamia, a lot of us feel the same way!
How cuuuuuute is this lilac scarf from Feather & Noise!? It’s on my winter wardrobe wishlist!
I had a sample of this Mecca Cosmetica Weekend Skin Tint that I finally got around to trying. I enjoyed it, very light coverage but a little something, ya know. $40 is a bit much for this kinda of product, in my opinion, but I will probably buy it at some point lol.
Victoria posted this Lockdown Diary, inspired by this series, and I really enjoyed reading it. It certainly makes us feel less alone to know that literally everyone is dealing with this right now.
Daisy and I were talking this week, about how we feel pressure to be doing more whilst in isolation. But we both came to the conclusion that it’s okay if we don’t write a novel, learn a language and bake (not burn) a banana bread or five… we’re in a global pandemic!! Give yourself a break! Gabrielle Tozer shared this thought piece; Why You Should Ignore All That Coronavirus-Inspired Productivity Pressure.
I can only dream of looking this chic in isolation. Tina shared some inspo too! In reality, I’m wearing my Year 12 rugby jumper, active wear / trackies and a full afce of makeup because yolo.

Oh my friends, I am sorry it has been a hot minute. The Week Latte is not dead! Impromptu hiatus, but it’s backkkkkkk.
Enjoy the links!
Sand & Sky have launched a brand new body product – Smoothing body Sand! I was very lucky to attend the launch of this product and met the S&S team. I thin k that has definitely made my love the brand more- having known the thought process behind the new product. Also, seriously fangirling because my face and my review of the product features on the website- EKKK!
Daisy shared this brand with me and oh em geeeeeeee I’ve been lusting over this design. She cuuuuuute!
Speaking of Daisy, she shared this amazing post about Aussie beauty babes and it made me feel all warm and fuzzy!!
I did a mass-binge watch of Anna’s videos and particularly enjoyed how she used one eyeshadow palette for a week and made so many creative looks.
Although this was shared in the context of parenting, I really appreciated this perspective on ‘choice’.
Similarly, I’ve been sick this week and took a day off work. I felt soooooo guilty. And since starting uni, in any pockets of free time, I’ve felt guilty for not studying or working etc. This is a great reminder.
Mco Beauty is currently half price at Woolies – I picked up these two lip and cheek tints after being #influenced by @beauteiya !!
How epic is Amy’s Bybi Beauty collection! Love the packaging of this brand too.
Innisfree have a new Cherry Blossom collection which is absolutely stunning – I went in store to buy the finishing powder, I just love the packaging agh!! Shanice has captured it so well!
I hope you enjoyed all of the content I shared throughout the month- I will eventually get around to curating it in one blog post!
This time between Christmas and New Year makes me forget what day it is hah!
Last weekend, I had a girls day with some friends. We went to Grain Store for brekkie and saw Chicago at the Melbourne Arts Centre. It was such a fun yet chill day out and kinda reminded me that I should actually get out and do things more often- lol. On my days off I like to do nothing. But having that city day made me realise I should adventure a bit more too. Don’t get me wrong though, I’ll still be doing plenty of nothing 😂
