Priceline & Chemist Warehouse Black Friday 2020 Recommendations

affordable beauty

Black Friday sales are well and truly upon us so I wanted to share some of my top picks from Priceline, Chemist Warehouse and a few skincare bits!

I have shared many posts like this in the past so I will include them for your reference.

I also haven’t worn a lot of new makeup this year so I don’t have that many new recommendations. Though the list may be small, it is mighty!

Be sure to tag me in your hauls!

*Note* Most items you can buy from Priceline, will actually be cheaper at Chemist Warehouse during this sale. Just be mindful some brands are exclusive to either retailer.

Priceline

L’Oreal Brow Artist Plump & Set Transparent

Revlon Super Lustrous Glass Shine Lipstick

Natio Matte Lip Colour

(I believe the ones linked are different to the ones in the picture… I can’t guarantee the new range is available in store I’m sorry!)

Revlon Face Defuzzers

These are sharpest ones I’ve tried, and the cheapest! Win win!

Rimmel Match Perfection Silky Loose Face Powder

@emmiesbeautylife and @beauty_withlauren got me onto this, and it’s seriously incredible. AND SO CHEAP OMG!!!!

Read my beauty swap with Emily here and Lauren here.

Chemist Warehouse

Manicare Brushes

Flower beauty Light Illusions Foundation

If you can get a shade match, wooo! Enjoy this gorgeous, glowy medium coverage foundation. unfortunately it isn’t a perfect match for me but I’nm determined to make it work, it’s just that good!

Flower Beauty Brushes

Such good quality, at such a good price. Never let me down!

Flower Beauty Powder Blush in Sweet Pea

This was the blush that made me love blush, so it holds a special place in my heart. This colour is perfect for my fair skin as an ‘everyday’ shade, and it’s also a decent size pan!

Big W

Max Factor Miracle Second Skin

For some reason, this is only available at Big W at the moment, and so I’m not sure what their sale will be. however, just keep this in mind because they often do 30-50% this range at other times throughout the year. It’s a shitty shade range (what’s new agh) but I was able to find a match and it’s a beautiful light to medium foundation. Read my full review here.

Skincare

Koena

15% off with code BLACKFRIDAY. This is the ‘everything’ cream. I use it as a light morning moisturiser, hand cream, or in the evenings before a heavier sleeping mask.

Laneige Cica Sleeping Mask and Cream Skin Mist

This Cica mask is my actual favourite thing ever. It is so hydrating and soothing on the skin. I’ve only used it a few times since I got it in my Sephora Haul, but already I am in love. If you have dry-ish or problematic-ish skin you need this.

We all know about the famous Cream Skin toner, but I am lazy with toners so didn’t see how it could fit into my routine. Enter, the mist. I get the hype. It’s beautiful and is kinda putting my beloved Avene Thermal water to shame because of it’s added hydrating benefits. Big fan.

Also available via Australian K-beauty retailers Kanvas Beauty , Style Story and The Skin Alley.

I don’t recommend….

Covergirl Skin Milk Foundation… read my review here.

Colourpop Sale Haul – October 2020 (& Recommendations)

affordable beauty

I had been anticipating making a ColourPop order at Black Friday, but they announced a 25% off sale in late October and so I decided to jump on and buy a few things in the meantime. I hope to also buy some things come November, but am waiting on stock.

Lip Tint in Shade A Go Go

There were only two shades in stock on the website and this is the one I don’t have out of them. This formula is heavenly, but has a strong peachy scent (I like it but it might be overwhelming for others?) I really hope the full range is restocked.

Luxe Lip Oil in Shade Skinny Dip

These were high on my wishlist and I very easily could’ve purchased the full set of 5 but I thought that may be excessive? Lol I hate when I’m reasonable!

Lux Gloss in Shades Dream Queen and Figgy With It

Another item high on my wishlist was this gloss. I actually wanted to buy the entire mauve collection, but once again, my good old logic came back to play and I just purchased one shade from this collection.

Mauve collection blushes in Catch My Vibe

As I said above, I wanted the whole collection. But I figured, I have the Flutterby palette (sitting untouched mind you) so I didn’t need another mauve palette. I did want to pick up both blushes from this collection but only one was in stock. Allie Glines and Juudy both made such a good case for both shades so I’ll definitely be picking up Coast to Coast when I can.

Wild Nothing Palette

This palette really excited me when it launched, so I was very pleased that I was able to get it when it was in stock. I have nothing like this in my collection so am excited to play!

Pretty Fresh Tinted Moisturiser in 4N MINI

I had done extensive research to find a shade that would suit me, and ended up choosing 4N because that’s what @maddies.makeupmess wears too (I think, lol? Or maybe it was Jessica Braun. Either way, Maddie has been very influential in my CP purchases hah!) Just before the sale, they released mini sizes making it much less scary to commit to a shade. I’m so glad they’ve done this, it is also available in the pretty fresh primer and mist (the mist is amazing, would recommend)

Coral Collection Blush

SIKE! It was out of stock… pleaseeeee be available at Black Friday.

I’m not sure if this coral tone will really suit my fair skin but I’m excited to try. I love this compact and honestly that’s what draws me to it the most.

Clear Brow Gel

Because the coral blush was out of stock, I had to bulk up my cart with other products to reach free shipping over $60USD. So I added this. I’ve heard good things, and you always need clear brow gel, right?

Liquid Illuminator in Soft Ivory

Who knows how this will go but I’m excited nonetheless. I don’t own anything like this (does MAC Strobe Scream count?) so will have to have a play with how I like to apply it. Mixed with foundation? On top of foundation as highlight?

Wishlist:

  • Face mask mini set: mainly for the aesthetic, I won’t lie
  • Lip tints: for some reason these haven’t restocked in a really long time and it makes me SO sad because this formula is just heaven
  • Pretty Fresh Foundation: I’m hoping this order arrives before Black Friday so I can test the TM for a shade match and then buy the foundation, but otherwise I’ll probably just bite the bullet and get it. It looks so pretty! Maybe even the concealer if I’m feeling crazy.

Things to note

I have ordered from Colourpop twice in the past (or three times, I can’t remember?)

The first time, it arrived in like three weeks which was equally incredible as it was shocking. I mentally prepared for a long wait time.

The second time I ordered, it arrived in about four weeks, but half my order was missing. Excuse me what???

It was relatively easy to follow up with Colourpop and they sent out my missing items. But like how does that even happen? It wasn’t just one item… it was like 10!!!

Anyways it was resolved easily, but I’m always cautious now.

Also, always add a few extra dollars onto what you think your total will be.

I used a USD to AUD convertor on Google, but my bank must use a different one. I thought I would be paying $100 AUD but it was atcually about $106 AUD.

The OFFICIAL best and worst of @colourpopcosmetics ✨ – I’ve tried my fair share of colourpop, enough, that I believe I can put together a list of my hits and misses. – ✨Best✨ – pressed matte eyeshadows: these are god tier, up there with ABH shadows, so many options that you couldn’t possibly not find a palette for you. – super shock shadows: also god tier, I really think cp paved the way for many brands to release shadows like this….for a much heftier price range. – brow boss gel: she thicccc, holds my brows all day and comes in clear, and is $6USD each. Unbeatable – lip liners: excellent, creamy, cheap, great range of colours. – super shock highlighters: absolute blinding goodness – powder blushes: just the right amount of pigment, I love that you can make palettes out of them or put them in a single pan, great range of shades. – no filter concealer: not cakey or drying, great coverage, a little goes a long way, super affordable option! – Worst 😗✌🏻 – bullet lipsticks and liquid lipsticks: they’re. so. drying. Like prison for your lips – mascara: it dries out so fast! And it’s really clumpy and flakey, there are much better drugstore options. – pressed powder bronzer: waaaay too pigmented for a bronzer and shades are kind of ashy – no filter foundation: very drying, a little cakey. Pretty fresh is much better however not good enough to make my best list haha. – Okay! So comment below your favourite and least favourite product from @colourpopcosmetics 🥰

Priceline Half Price Cosmetics Sale Recommendations & Wishlist – June 2020

ROLLY Mag

Not going to lie, guys, this sale caught me off guard!

Normally these sales happen Tuesday through Thursday… so this catalogue ending on a Tuesday was pretty typical and I didn’t see it coming.

So I’m madly rushing to put together this resource for you the day before the sale goes live.

These are my favourite posts to write, and I stand by what I’ve recommended in the past –

See those posts here!

July Haul

July Haul Part 2

I’m trying to recommend new things, that I’ve not yet shared in one of these posts before!

Also!!!!! I was gifted the Luma and Makeup Revolution products I’ve mentioned. However, I truly love them and was under no obligation to post. This post is not associated with or sponsored by Priceline. (But like, in future pls do sponsor me xo)

Recommendations:

Thin Lizzy Foundation: I picked this up last half price sale, after @beautybyhiuy recommended it. It’s a gorgeous, glowy foundation that is seriously slept on!

Thin Lizzy Sponge: @i_shall_shop has sung the praises of this sponge for ages but I’d never remembered to pick it up. I finally bought it last sale and let me tell you… the hype is real. This is the best makeup sponge I’ve ever used. Better than Mco, Real Techniques, Kmart etc etc. So good, in fact, I recently picked up some when they were half price at Big W.

Revlon Lip Oil: Another purchase from the last sale, this lip oil is really easy to wear and has a sheer pigment.

Revlon Lip Polish: Revlon just don’t really fab lip products! The perfect, pigmented gloss.

Revlon Candid Glow Foundation: how this is called a “foundation” I do not know because it merely works as a tinted moisturiser for me but that’s why I like it! I could apply this with my eyes close and know it would be ok. So if you need very light coverage, this could work for you!

Makeup Revolution Waterproof Mascara: I actually have a post coming with a more in depth review but this mascara is incredible. I don’t really need/want waterproof formulas so I’m hoping to pick up the regular one!

Makeup Revolution Brow Tint: You can read about how much I love that here.

Luma Beauty:  My favourite product is the cheek and lip tint in the shade Muse that I purchased a few sales ago. But I was recently gifted the range and am enjoying the brow mascara and this highlight. See @Centaine_mclean’s review here.

Wishlist:

Revlon Super Lustrous Glass Shine Lipsticks: These have just launched in Australia, and don’t seem to be available online yet so you’ll have to get them in store. They have been so popular in America, I first found them when Allana raved about them here.

I plan on buying a few – oops…. including ‘so sleek pink’, ‘beaming strawberry’, ‘glossed up rose’ and ‘fire & ice’.

Australis Foiled Eyeshadow in Guns n Rose Petals: This was recommenced by Arna Alayne and I did pick up another shade in the Big W sale I mentioned but would love to try this shade in particular.

Bourjois Big Oui Mascara:  I have heard great things about this but I certainly don’t need another mascara. So I won’t pick it up this time around, but eventually. Same goes for the brow mascara.

Bourjois Healthy Mix BB Cream: @mummakesitup and @theamyclark are both fans of this, with Amy calling it a NARS dupe… sign me up!

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream: another @i_shall_shop recommendation! I don’t know if I need this and the CC cream so we’ll see haha.

Maybelline Glass Setting Spray: I honestly haven’t heard a whole lot about this, but I love the sound of it. I am also so tempted by the Maybelline Nudes palette however I! Don’t! Need! More! Eyeshadow!

Thinks I definitely wouldn’t recommend:

Australis Fresh n Flawless Foundation: I am one of the very few people who doesn’t like this foundation, I know. But it just didn’t work for me in any shape or form. I think it’s particularly bad for dry skin types. @thebeautyroast also isn’t a fan.

Maybelline The Falsies Lash Lift Mascara: This post by Amy Clark shares some fab items but it reminded me that I was disappointed in this mascara. It has big claims that it sadly didn’t live up to for me. I think Lash Sensational works harder than this!

In case non-cosmetic items are on sale, I’d also recommend:

  • Neutrogena Cleansing Oil
  • Neutrogena Bright Boost Polish
  • Anadalou Roses, Enzyme and CannaCell Masks
  • Revlon Face DeFuzzers
  • Manicare Microfibre Cloth (cheaper alternative / similar concept to Face Halo!)

Random but notabe:

Also recently I picked up aother Arna Alayne recommendation, the Models Prefer Light Veil. I haven’t used it yet but I’m so excited to and it’ll be so affordable in this sale if you want to try it out too.

I really feel like I don’t have all that much to share with you this sale, but hopefully you and I both find some new treasures!

Priceline Skincare & Suncare Sale – Recommendations & Wishlist

ROLLY Mag

Before we begin, I’d just like to say this is NOT sponsored, but I wish it was 😉

No one can sniff out a bargain better than the Aussie beauty community, I tell ya! Eagle-eyed Kim noticed that the most recent Pricleine catalogue ended on a Monday, which often means a three/four day sale will start on the Tuesday.

A few of my followers with beauty intel shared with me a few more details on the sale too – love you guys! Always on the lookout for a bargain, I love it!

You can find all the details and shop the Priceline sale here.

Recommendations

1. I have shared before how I love the lotion version of this, but I’ve recently discovered the mist version which is great for reapplication throughout the day.

2. This is the best cleansing oil I’ve tried, and bonus, it doesn’t sting my eyes!

3. This was the first Vitamin C product I tried… it’s quite pricey for the amount of product you get, but worth checking out if you’re in the market for a new Vit C.

4. Anadalou masks are pretty popular in the Aussie beauty community- but I’m recommending this one in particular because it gives you that ‘tingly’ sensation your face that makes it feel like it’s actual doing something haha!

5. Bondi Sands Liquid Gold, is quite literally, liquid gold. This develops in just a few hours, and gives you a gorgeous, glowy tan. Super impressed. the Bondi Sands tanning mit is also the best I’ve tried.

6. I’ve really enjoyed using the Bondi Sands fragrance free sunscreen– it’s intended for body but I find it light enough to use on my face as well. It’s quite a lot fo product and so good value for money!

Wishlist

  • anything by Lanolips (I hope they’re included!)
  • Anything by Revolution Skincare
  • Ocean and UV-IQ sunscreens
  • Nip + Fab
  • Tanologist
  • The Base Collective
  • anything by The Ordinary (but I doubt they’ll be included!)
  • Dr Bronners soap – for washing makeup brushes!
