Saying goodbye to some products who I once loved, or never worked for me!

Revlon Cheekmaker

This was my first ever cream blush and I honestly think it is why I disliked them for so long. It’s a really tricky formula to work with, it blends out really patchy and even then, you barely get any colour payoff. Big no from me. Goodbye!

Sukin Coffee and Coconut exfoliating mask

This was sitting in my collection smelling yummy but being unused. I tend to go for a chemical exfoliant nowadays, or if I do use a physical one, I use the Innisfree Clay or the Neutrogena Bright Polish.

Garnier Micellar Milk

I don’t even know why I bought this in the first place. I barely use micellar water as it is. I hate the slimy consistency of this and don’t find it works very well at all. When it comes to the OG formula of this, if it ain’t broke…

Iryna Skin Foaming Cleanser

I was using this everyday as my morning cleanse, but as lockdown went on, I was doing less and less skincare. This easily fell out of my routine. It is heavily fragranced which Ii don’t enjoy either. If I want a foaming cleanser, I reach for 11 Pearls. (Won in giveaway)

Medik8 Physical Sunscreen

I am sad to report that this Medik8 has found a new home. I tried it and was really enjoying it. It was my first ever physical sunscreen. It had a semi-matte finish and applied well. But having to wear mandatory masks in Melbourne, all I can smell under my mask is this sunscreen. It’s sort of a ‘metallic’ scent. That’s the only way I can describe it. I think if you were to wear this without a mask, and under makeup, the scent wouldn’t be noticeable. But for me right now, it doesn’t work #just2020things. (PR SAMPLE)

I like to share my ā€˜new in’ items with you, but by the time I get to posting them they’re no longer that new. My bad. Despite that, I’ve only tried one of the products so far so I’ll give you my first impressions at the end of this post! All PR Samples with no obligation to post. šŸ’« @lanolips all over cream: well loved in the IG community and I can see this becoming a staple on my bedside table! šŸ’« @spascriptions.australia retinol oil: A retinol oil is really interesting to me because I currently use a cream product! They also released a collagen oil in this range however, my understanding is that there has been no evidence to prove that applying collagen topically results in the stimulation of collagen growth. And so, I passed that along to my mum to use as a hydrating product instead. šŸ’« @goodmolecules rosewater daily cleansing gel: I haven’t used a gel cleanser in a while and I think it will be good for the warmer months. I also believe that rose water can have anti-inflammatory properties which is perfect for my red and acne prone skin. šŸ’« @medik8australia press and glow daily exfoliating PHA toner: I’m SO excited to try this product! Not only does it look super sleek, but I think it’s a great daily addition to my routine. I will build up to daily use, though. Maybe every second day for now. I would love to know how you incorporate a daily exfoliator like this in your routine? šŸ’« physical sunscreen: I’ve never tried a physical sunscreen before this one, and I can’t believe it’s so different to a chemical formula. It takes a lot of work to get the product going, but then once it warms it it sinks into the skin well. I think it stung my eyes a little bit but wasn’t too bad. It also has a slight salty smell? Also not an issue but wanted to make note! I think for sweaty summer days at the beach or exercising, this will be a winner. It just feels a bit more heavy duty. But not heavy! šŸ˜… It also plays nicely under makeup. I’m impressed!

Elizabeth Mott Eyebrow Mascara

This was a fave of mine when I first received it in a Bellabox but I’ve since discovered that I prefer other ways of applying brows. It was quick and easy for iso brows. However, I prefer to fill in my brows with a pencil/crayon/pomade and then set with clear gel. I’ve used this technique in the past, but only recently have I realised it’s actually my preferred method! I also found this wasn’t lasting a full day of wear in terms of hold, although it did in colour. So, does this mean it’s the end of my beloved Mco More Brows too? I’m not calling it quits on More Brows just yet, as I find that is just a great product anyways. We will see how much wear it gets in my collection now that I’ve discovered this ā€˜new’ technique though! (PR Sample)
