Week Latte #34 – Blogmas Day 6

ROLLY Mag, Week Latte

Happy Friday!

With Black Friday sales and then the overload of B/Vlogmas content, the last two weeks have felt very overwhelming in this online space.

I need to take a moment to step back and remember why I love it!

Enjoy the links x

Like what I said above, every man and his dog seems to be producing daily content in December- and it’s hard to keep up!

Blogmas wise- I’m loving Daisy and Roxane’s content 😍

And for Vlogmas, I’m loving Zoe Sugg, Hello October and Smiley Citrus.

Summer TBR.

SPF Queen, Hannah, featured on the All Bases Covered podcast this week. Firstly, the chat was fabulous and debunked a lot of sunscreen myths. Secondly, I literally DIED when I read the description for the podcast (it’s new to me!) because one of the hosts is both a makeup artist and a speech pathologist. My two dream careers! I am soooo glad to have this podcast in my life. ❤️

I am seriously drooling over these Mejuri necklaces captured by @editionalbeauty

I love the idea of a “queen bee” and these earrings would be the perfect accessory to that persona!

Totally vibing this fresh and pink look by the very talented Rachelle.

Jackie swatched these BYS lippies and omg… heaven!

Words of wisdom.

The beautiful and hilarious Kelly did her own wedding makeup… here’s how!

Beauty Wishlist – Blogmas Day 5

ROLLY Mag

After my crazy spending during the Black Friday sales, I decided that I would treat the rest of the year as practise for my “Low Buy 2020”.

Although I wanted to buy with intention in 2019, I definitely got swept up in the sales and was easily tempted.

Despite this, I still have a very lustful eye when it comes to beauty products- see my Wishlist below!

Mermaid hair for under $100!? Say no more! Read Amy’s review for Mamamia here.

This product has cult status on IG, and no wonder- it’s so pretty!

This Kiehl’s advent calendar actually looks like good value! I’m very tempted!

Fluff now do a lip oil! The packaging is sooooo cool (I really want to say groovy lol 😅)

@themakeuptreasury bought this Too Faced set and now it’s all I can think about! Such a cute idea for a gift too!

Go To have an advent calendar and it’s actually the cutest.

I placed a very hefty Colourpop order at Black Friday, but I last minute took this palette out of my cart. I have the biggest regrets. I hope to pick it up in the Boxing Day sales.

Ulta3 very kindly gifted me a few Christmas goodies this year… but the beauty of the bronzer palette makes me want their blush palette even more! I went from being scared of blush, to it being one of my fave products in a matter of months!

Hannah reviewed this Paula’s Choice face mask and it’s been added to my very long PC Wishlist! At the top is their azelaic acid!

@bottledbeauty mentioned how good the Tribe body wash had been for her KP… super keen to try it.

What’s your wishlist?

Gift Guide: Kris Kringle – Blogmas Day 4

ROLLY Mag

Kris Kringle is that gift giving tradition in workplaces or classrooms that is notorious for being planned last minute, and someone forgets to bring their gift meaning someone else misses out. Agree?

The past two years, my friendship circle have opted for a KK, meaning that the five of us only buy for one other person. It means we can spend a little more time and effort on each other.

It has worked really well for us. This year, however, we won’t actually all be together before our Christmas gathering. So, we decided that we would all still bring a gift -but for no one in particular- and then we will label them with a number, and pull numbers out of the hat to see who gets what gift.

I’m thinking of making a ‘pamper box’ filled with face and hair masks, hand cream, fluffy socks, chocolate etc because I know any of my friends would appreciate that.

And so, in today’s gift guide I wanted to share a few budget friendly KK inspired gifts. A lot of these you’ve probably thought of, like a key chain, but I’ve hunted down some really cool ideas for this otherwise ‘meh’ gift!

Enjoy!

Face mask set

This Garnier set is super affordable and already has assorted masks so that’s an easy choice. Alternatively, you could just buy a few different masks and bundle them up.

Or, Spascriptions have fab, luxe looking mask sets available too.

Life hack calendar

This would be a fun addition to someone’s office desk, and also are boy appropriate!

Candles

In a similar sense, a candle is a typical gift, but it’ll make their desk smell nice. Make it a bit unique by buying from Nomad Candle Co… once you burn the candle you have a travel mug!

Travel mug

Or, just go straight for a travel mug. Most people have a travel mug these days, so again, look for something a bit different, like a pretty, patterned one!

Or buy them a practical accessories for their current travel mug- like a tea strainer or additional metal straws.

Diary / journal

These can be quite personal, as people often have different preferences regarding layout etc. But, it’s the thought that counts!

Board game

These are especially suitable for gifting during an event where it could be played! The funnier the better. Kmart have some good savey options.

Honestly, Kmart has a dedicated Kris Kringle page… it’s amazing!

Pet toys

Personally, I would love to receive pet themed gifts. So cute! You could go to absolute town in the Kmart pet section. Target and Typo have some cute options as well. This is the perfect gift for the girl in the office who has a photo of her dog on her desk (and mug, and sock… #goals).

Korres Body Milk set

People, if you aren’t buying gifts from Mecca to add points to your account, you’re doing Christmas wrong!! This set is only $25 and is pretty luxe for a KK, in my opinion.

Lanyard / key chain

Kikki K have the most beautiful key chains- a really glamorous twist on a usually boring item. The personalisation you can add to these makes it a bit fun too.

I have bought my own and a friends lanyard from X & O. So beautiful, customisable too!

Gift Guide: The Best Friend – Blogmas Day 3

ROLLY Mag

It’s likely that you are prepared to spend a little more on your bestie girl, but I have still included a range of ideas that span across your budget. You know your BFF pretty well, so you can spoil her with all of her favourite things! Or, the things that you would love yourself (sharing is caring, after all!)

Personalised Lipstick

I should’ve included Maarks in my personalisation gift guide, but never fear, they are here now! These lipsticks are designed to suit any skin tone, so that takes out some of the stress when choosing a colour. Get your besties initials on the lipstick too for the added touch. So cute!

Luxe face masks

A face mask is nice, but you can pick up any old one form Coles. Treat your bestie to one she’s been lusting over but hasn’t yet treated herself to. Blu Ocean or Aceology have some perfect options for this type of gift giving.

Candles

But please, for the love of the candle gods, not just any old candle! A candle subscription box- like Club Candle. This way, the Christmas gift keeps on giving throughout other months of the year!

Accessories

You might be attending a festive party together this year, so buy her some accessories to wear. Rush Rush Co have beautiful hair accessories, including scrunchies, clips and other head ware, as well as earrings that would be perfect additions to any party outfit.

Or, any one of these products would be the perfect extra little something to add to her present.

Whilst you’re visiting the Rush Rush Co website, you may as well buy something for yourself too, considering I have an exclusive discount for you!

My one goal since I started blogging was to be able to provide my readers and followers with discount codes as my way of saying thank you for your support.

So I am so excited to be able to offer you 25% off sitewide at Rush Rush Co, right up until December 15th. (Hopefully that is enough time for even the last minute presents to arrive at your door in time for Christmas!)

Use the code ROLLYMAG and be sure to tag me in your hauls! I can’t wait to know what you buy!

I personally recommend these scrunchie sets.

November Favourites – Blogmas Day 2

ROLLY Mag

A lot of these products I could have included in my past two month favourites posts because I am seriously enjoying them that much!

What’s been your fave product during November?

Chi Chi CC Cream: I am seriously into a dewy base at the moment and this product is perfect for that. It does have a scent that is a bit odd, not an added fragrance I don’t think though. It’s fine but just my what you’d expect from a product like this. Despite that, I really love it! I find it works well with any application- fingers, brush or sponge. It was on sale over Black Friday at a few places but my shade, light, was always sold out-wahhh!

Medik8 Clarity Peptides: Really gentle on the skin. I mentioned in this post that I’m enjoying a minimalistic evening skincare routine, I’m often reaching for this and my night cream alone. I’ve had great results- clear and even skin- for the most part. It contains the ingredient niacinamide, which can help sooth red, inflamed or acne prone skin (me!) Learn more here. (Gifted)

BYS Luminous Glow Spray: I actually wore this to the Halloween Party in October but wanted to give it a few more wears before adding it fo my favourites. I’ve since used it for concerts and work Christmas parties and wowww the glow is real! So easy to apply too! Sol Body have a similar looking product, but this BYS one is so affordable and easily accessible for us Aussies that I would recommend giving this a go first. Perfect for the festive season! (Gifted)

Mesoestetic SPF: This has been my go to SPF for wearing under makeup. It leaves a satin like finish on the skin that makes for a nice makeup base. It’s a light weight consistency that makes it easy to apply, and it’s unscented. It’s also got no stickiness to it. The name “light water veil” honestly describes it perfectly. I’m in love! (Gifted)

Very high factor sunscreen (SPF 50+) for normal and combination skin types. Formulated with hyaluronic acid and silicon to provide hydrating action at an epidermal level and enhance elasticity and firmness. Its ultra-light emulsion texture is rapidly absorbed to create an invisible protective veil.

Lush Sleepy Body Wash: this smells so incredible- I can’t get enough of it! Particularly for using before bed, it’s so relaxing! I won this in a giveaway.

Honey Love Handmade Pouch: I have loved having this in my handbag to keep all of my lip products together (who else finds 10 random lippies in each purse? 😅) I love this Aussie brand… be sure to check them out here! Perfect Christmas gift ideas. (Gifted)

December Editor’s Letter – Blogmas Day 1

ROLLY Mag

Happy December!

HOLY GUAC! It’s the month of the year… the last month of my gap year. What the heck.

I am struggling with understanding the concept of time but I also don’t really have to think about it because- working in retail- I am busyyyyyyyy!

Also, the fact that I have challenged myself to participate in Blogmas. I’m so excited for the content I have planned, and I have created a lot of it in advance… but boy oh boy it’s still intense.

There is so much that goes on behind the scenes.

Even November was absolutely hectic in terms of work and personal life of me too. So I was trying to keep up in life, and try to get ahead on the blog, and it was A LOT!

But I think it will be worth it!

There are a few giveaways coming this month too- yay! For Christmas, but also because it will be my one year blogging anniversary on December 29th. I cannot believe it. HOW?!

I am so grateful for the love and support ROLLy Mag has received. I never expected to create this community- but it my favourite part of having this blog… the people I have met (e-met, in most cases, but IRL too!)

I want to give you all a final reminder that your local Bunnings will accepted “Share The Dignity” donations until Saturday 7th of December.

For the past two years, I coordinated this fundraiser at my school, so I was interested to be involved again this year.

I’ve included a novel and an activity book in my bag for someone to enjoy as well.

To find out more about being involved, go to the website here.

I’m so excited to begin Blogmas! Let’s do this!

I’d love to know if you are doing Blogmas this year, and also who your fave creators are.

In terms of Vlogmas, I think you can’t beat the queen of Christmas, Zoe Sugg!

Week Latte #33

ROLLY Mag

If I’m honest, I’ve have been utterly consumed by the Black Friday sales this week.

It’s kind of scary to see how easily persuaded I am by a bargain.

I have heaps of Black Friday account over on IG, so I’m leaving this post strictly Black Friday free.

I just need a breather ha.

Enjoy the links x

The idea of a the “perfect” holiday has dawned on me, as I have been preparing my Blogmas series. It would be easy to think, by the posts I have planned, that I have a busy schedule filled with celebrations. And whilst this is somewhat true, it’s not all rainbows and sunshine. There is a lot of anticipation, decision making, social anxiety and uncomfortableness involved in this process to.

“For as many people who are talking about or posting about a very edited version of their holiday plans, there are likely just as many not sharing at all.”

Read more on Wit & Delight here.

Hannah being a babe, as usual.

I discovered Bianca through her fantastic “best and worst of colourpop” post here. This is a fun beauty chat she’s done recently too.

I saw this on Leigh’s stories… a delicate design necklace of which all proceeds go to Make A Wish.

I realise I’ve never actually talked about this sunscreen but it’s my current fave. I have a dedicated SPF post coming during Blogmas so we can chat more then.

This journal is soooo stunning!

I’m venturing to Kmart today to hopefully pick up these gorgeous bags that Daisy found!

This eye look is dreamy!

Week Latte #32

ROLLY Mag

Happy Friday!

I have a three day weekend ahead of me… if involves a few dinners with friends, shopping, markets and shooting blog content. I am keen!!

Hope you have something to look forward to this weekend. If you don’t, hang in there because next weekend is Black Friday aka sale time 🤑

Emma shared this artist, Lorns, in her mini gift guide! Obsessed!

Stumbled across this Melbourne biz, who- among other things!- make stickers to jazz up your Myki. So cool!

A very insightful read about the beauty PR world by Lara.

Just last week I shared my first purchase from Ultra Violette, but I’m sure to make another soon because they’ve launched gift sets!

Jasmine is down sizing her beauty collection, which I honestly think is admirable! Especially at this time of year, I get soooo swept up in consumerism. Trying to be more conscious in my purchases- which is realise is somewhat ironic when, in this post alone, I say “I want” to many beauty products. I’m trying!!!

*Adds to TBR*

Aussie made jewellery is my weakness! 😍

Annie has captured this limited edition MAC trio so beautifully. I want!

Oh Hey Store have dropped new arrivals and yep I want everything.

Jenny Walton is style goals, always. But particularly when her dogs are also involved.

And this week, I discovered a new fashion blogger, Charlotte. I follow a lot of hashtags which is how I find a lot of creators. I found Charlotte by following #discoverunder10k!

I once read, that in regards to social media, we were never meant to know this many people. I’m going to get all grandma on you now, but back in the day, you knew those you went to school with or worked with or were friends of a friend. Now, we can say, yep I know 2000+ people that I follow. That’s 2000 more opinions to contend with. I thought of this as I was reading this post by Hannah.

When people share a post-birth photo, or bikini picture or something that makes them even the tiniest bit vulnerable – in fact, anything we post!- yeah, that is brave.

Hannah talks about protecting herself online by withholding information and I can really relate.

I really like the idea of this Aldi skincare set, but Brow Queen Amy’s review makes me think I’ll give it a miss. However, what a fab idea for a mum or someone who needs to up the ante with their skincare routine?

Interesting read about friendship break ups.

Make Your Makeup Be The Life of The Concert *Collab with Makeup With Cortney*

ROLLY Mag

If there is one thing I love just as much as Makeup, it’s music.

And Shawn Mendes.

My blogging BFF Cortney is also quite the fangirl (she went to his concert two nights in a row #goals) so we’ve decided to share our MOTN with you all- to show what makeup works, and doesn’t work, for a concert!

Follow Cortney on IG here and her blog here. OMShe Primer / here

I really do love this Primer… but since I have tried a few others recently- I’ve discovered that this one is good for everyday wear as it leaves a satin finish- but I need something with more durability for a sweaty concert.

Tribe Anti Redness Serum / here

I think this may be the product that occasionally causes my foundation to pill when applied on top. But the effectiveness of this serum trumps that. Pricey- but you truly only need a tiny bit each application.

Chi Chi CC Cream / here

This has a funny scent- not added fragrance but just the way it is. Once you look past that- this is such a great product. Buildable coverage and lasts well. Wears around my nose and chin but everything does.

Australis Fresh and Flawless Concealer / here

I really enjoy this concealer- does the trick to brighten my under eyes well.

Australis Fresh and Flawless Powder / here

I use this as a setting powder and think it’s super effective, especially considering the price point. And it seems to last for ever. Literally!

MAC Fix+ Setting Spray / sold out in this scent

This is the white tea scent and it’s divine but I actually think the spray is quite uneven and heavy. So not my fave. But a convenient travel size.

Australis Eyeshadow Primer / here

Great… when I remember to use it!

Mecca Max Sugar Queen Eyeshadow Palette / sold out 😩

All these months on and she is still sooooo pretty. I challenged myself to use the silver shades- normally I’m a gold girl- and it was so fun!

Mavala Eyeliner in silver / here

The tip of this product makes eyeliner achievable for even people like me (aka hopeless eyeliner people!). So good! (Gifted)

Ulta3 Bloom Blush / here

You know I’m scared of liquid blush at the best of times. I think the formula will take a bit of getting used to because I definitely applied too much. But I adore the colour and it is very convenient for travel. I will have to keep practising! (Gifted)

Elf Bronzer / here

So. Good. But I was terrified it would break during the travelling. Seriously though, so pigmented. I love.

NYX Illuminating Powder / unable to find online

Used this as highlight because despite the fact I took my Colourpop… I FORGOT TO USE IT 😩 This powder is nice enough but don’t really have a specific use for it. (Won in a giveaway)

Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil / here

Took this particular product because it has a spoolie attached. Win!

MCo Beauty More Brow / here

This product is cheap as chips, located at Woolies and definitely worth a try. I use it for the tint rather than its staying power. A clear gel on top wouldn’t hurt to keep your brows in place.

Rimmel Wonderluxe mascara / here

Ok, so first impressions when I used this a while ago, I didn’t like it. So wet and clumpy, and the plastic brush was not my jam.

BYS Illuminating Body Spray / here

Wow ok I thought these sorts of products were all hype and had no place in my beauty pile… I was wrong! So. Much. Glow! And it’s a really “I’m a model” kinda glow, not a “sweaty mess” glow and I appreciate that. So easy to spray and apply- and so cheap!

Flower Beauty in Spiced Petal / here

Super affordable and I do love Flower on a whole, but I actually found this quite drying. It’s a beautiful colour though. This lippie is supposed to be a dupe for CT “pillow talk” too FYI!

Essence Gloss in That’s Big / here

Katie got me onto this lippie and omg I adore it! Gloss is back and in a big way. It has a slight tingle but not a major plumping effect. The colour and feel is gorgeous.

Overall, my makeup lasted pretty well for the concert.

I’m really loving a natural, glowing base at the moment, and then I have a play with eyes and lips.

As a bonus feature of this post, I thought I’d leave you with my 3 fave songs from the night…

Dan + Shay – 10 000 Hours: the support act were amazing, and maybe even my fave part of the show 🙊 (controversial?!)

SM ft JuliaMichaels – Like To Be You: Julia Michaels is my fave artist, but Shawn really held his own in this performance. It was captivating!

SM – There’s Nothing Holding Me Back: this song was sooooo fun! Everyone was jumping around and dancing, I think it would have been much better placed at the end of the setlist. Nonetheless, a fab tune!

Thanks to Cortney for collaborating with me again- love ya girl! 😘

Week Latte #31

ROLLY Mag

Hey hey!

This week has been busyyyyy with work, and when I’m not working I’m trying to organise my Blogmas posts.

Lots of great ideas but so little time!

I also spent Friday night at a local festival with some of my friends. It was so fun! This time last year we celebrate our final exams at the same festival. It was a bittersweet moment realising it had literally been one year since high school.

So much has changed, but at the same time, not much.

Enjoy the links… be sure to share some link love in the comments.

Connor Franta gives you (and me! And all of us!) a pep talk!

On Wednesday of this week, all sales made online at Ultra Violette were donated to Rural Fire Services. Such a great initiative, and a great excuse for me to final try the brand! I want to try Supreme Screen but it was sold out, so I got the lip balm (of course!). If you need help choosing which spf is right for you, you can take this quiz or listen to this podcast!

I am seriously obsessed with these satin scrunchie sets! I want every colour!

This antique mirror situation is just heavenly! My dream beauty space would include this hah.

Mecca’s IG always inspires me with makeup. Like this eye and gloss combo. Oooh!

@sensitiveskingal tagged me in @morgansskinjournal’s 1K giveaway- and I’m so glad to have discovered another Aussie beauty babe! My fave story of account to follow. 😍

@morgansskinjournal
@sensitiveskingal

Alison launched her Offline tote bags this week, which I purchased immediately! Such a cool, chic vibe.

Wishing you all a happy weekend!
