Inspired by the lovely Laura, from The Life of Laura, I am sharing my 5 Winter Beauty Essentials.

Lanolips Coconutter Multi-Balm

Ain’t no surprises that my numero uno beauty product is a lip balm. Specifically, Lanolip. I’m not going to lie, when I first used this prodct I was like ‘wtf is everyone raving about this for?’ All I could think about was how overwhelmingly ‘sheepy’ it was. It bought back too many memeories of Year 8 camp at a farm. But, I got over that by focusing on the coconut-i-ness. I love coconut so that helped. I reserve this only for nighttime use. I pop it on just before I go to bed, and wake up with soft lips- despite heating, icy winds, you name it. Fab! I used to be a paw-paw worshipper… literally ask any high school girl for a lip balm and I can bet you she’ll whip out a Lucas’ tube. But, paw-paw works to seal the moisture in rather than add moisture to your lips. So it makes sense to change your lip balm seasonally, because they do work to achieve different results.
St Ives Oatmeal and Shea Butter Moisturiser
This body moisturiser sits in my mind, categorically alongside Ponds face cream… simply because it is a cult classic of my Grandma’s. I’ve used it for YEARS. Like, maybe since I was eight? I repurchase it almost every time it’s on sale at Priceline, and always have a backup on hand. I love the smell and the feel, but… in winter I find it so hard to use moisturiser on my body. I don’t want to stand around waiting for it to try after a shower, I just want to jump straight into my pjs. It’s a double edged sword… because my body needs the most moisturising in winter when I give it the least. Working on it.
Palmer’s Coconut Oil Face Mask
I wish I could study beauty at university because it is honestly one of my fave things to learn about. I just about fell of my chair when I first heard (can’t remember exactly where but high chance it was on the You Beauty podcast) that you need to replenish your skin’s moisture after you’ve done a face mask. Shook. Seeminly obvious but something I’d never considered. So now when I face mask, I always double face mask. First with something stripping, like a detoxifying mask, quickly followed by this Palmer’s hydrating mask. It smells delish, too. Honestly, I usually just keep this mask on when I use it, because I mask at night time, I just sleep with it on! Wake up with soft, plump skin. Woo! It’s kinda like slugging, I guess?
Avene Thermal Water
My overpriced, water in a can you may say. Magical mist, I call it. Literally have no idea what it is about this but my gosh it is divine. I use it nightly after I apply my spot treatment either before or after I apply my serum. I literally coat myself in water, so much so it often drips down onto my neck. I love it! My skin feels instantly hydrating and I just don’t know what I’d do without it. I know La Roche Posay has one too- any one tried it? Thoughts / comparisons? Don’t think anything could make me stray from this Avene one though.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost SPF
Just because it’s winter, doesn’t mean we stop wearing SPF, right friends? I understand that it may not seem as important now, when it’s only a few degrees outside and pouring with rain… but hear me out. Instead of changing your attitude, change your SPF product! Mind blown? My old faithful Neutrogena Ultra Sheer just wasn’t cutting it for me in the cooler weather. In summer, I adore it. But in winter, it just wasn’t as enjoyable to use. So, I switched to a more hydrating SPF and it’s made it so much easier to incorporate into my routine, simply because of how it feels on my skin. I think that’s made all the difference. This year is the first time I’ve really thought about how I wear skincare… as in when and how I apply it. Maybe everyone changes their SPF come winter time and I’m late to the party- haha?
There we have it! Despite having so, so many beauty products, I only use a handful… so narrowing this post down to just five wasn’t too hard for me.
I’d love to know, could you narrow down your five winter beauty essentials?

So awesome that you remembered sunscreen! I always look for ones that are SPF 50 because up north, it’s hot all of the time!

I adore the Ultra Violette for the face. But I usually go for anything that’s 50+ for the body.
